EXPLORING/REYKJAVIK: Connecting city life & nature

Last month I was lucky enough to visit Iceland

The country where the population in the whole place is less than the population of Amsterdam, where every hour on the road a new natural miracle shows itself, where I can wear a scarf, a hat and sunglasses at the same time.. My first day it was time to explore Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. One thing that always keeps amazing me is the color of the houses in the streets. It just makes me smile all the time!

Colorful houses Reykjavik

I love how the city life and nature here is totally connected. Turning my head to the left I see the cute artsy little shops, the people drinking coffee in the street, the happy talks and smiles. Turning straightforward it is infinity, the ocean, the mountains and beyond. Beautiful to see the interconnectivity of it all!

City & Nature

I was incredibly lucky to arrive on a sunny day so I could enjoy just walking around in the sunshine with the view of the blue sky and bright colors. I walked through every street and stood still at every corner just taking in the view and new experiences. In the city of Reykjavik you have an amazing church, called the HallgrĂmskirkja. It is 74,5 meters high and from up there you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city.

View over Reykjavik

You can go to every side of the church and just take every part of Reykjavik in from 74,5 meters high. Looking down I spotted this little house with the green roof, showing once again the tight an amazing connecting between city life and nature here.

Hidden house Reykjavik

Couldn’t get enough of this city! I stayed at this amazing hostel as well, called KEX Hostel . Great arty place with lots of travelers, music and a perfect hangout spot outside.

More on Reykjavik soon.. just couldn’t wait sharing these already!

Love,
Cyn
